Toughened Reinforced PPS for Stress and Impact

Plastic resin compounding in this product refers to a toughened reinforced PPS material developed to improve toughness while maintaining the high mechanical and thermal performance of reinforced polyphenylene sulfide.

The typical grade is 906G6-R.

Compared with conventional reinforced PPS that focuses strongly on rigidity, this material gives greater attention to impact performance and elongation. It is suitable for components exposed to assembly impact, mechanical vibration, or localized stress.

Applications listed in the supplied information include seals, textile components, electronic and electrical accessories, and motor-related parts.

This makes the material useful where high-temperature stability and structural strength are required, but additional toughness is also important for the finished part.

Balanced Toughness, Rigidity and Heat Performance

906G6-R has a density of 1.65 g/cm³ and a molding shrinkage range of 0.25%–0.60%.

Tensile strength at break is 164 MPa, and elongation at break is 4%. Flexural strength reaches 230 MPa, while flexural modulus is 9100 MPa.

The notched Izod impact strength is 19 kJ/m².

Its heat deflection temperature is 260°C, and the material reaches UL-94 V-0.

Electrical properties include a volume resistivity of 10¹⁴Ω·cm, dielectric strength of 16 kV/mm, and dielectric constant of 4.

This combination gives plastic resin compounding a more balanced performance profile where toughness, high-temperature resistance, rigidity, and electrical insulation all need to be considered together.

When Toughened PPS May Be More Suitable

Sealing components should be evaluated according to contact media, compression conditions, and dimensional tolerance.

Textile components can experience continuous movement, vibration, and localized wear. In these applications, higher impact strength can provide more structural adaptability than a PPS grade selected only for maximum rigidity.

Electronic and electrical components should also be evaluated according to flame-retardant requirements, electrical insulation, operating temperature, and assembly structure.

When comparing conventional reinforced PPS with toughened reinforced PPS, buyers should pay particular attention to snap-fits, thin-wall sections, impact exposure, and assembly stress.

Providing sample parts, existing material data, or information about cracking and assembly damage can help determine whether the additional toughness is relevant to the application.

Toughening System and Application Verification

Diyou New Material has technical capabilities covering formulation design, toughening-system matching, extrusion modification, injection molding, and performance verification.

For PPS materials, the technical team can support the balance between high rigidity and toughness according to the finished component.

Sample pieces or actual molded parts can be used to evaluate impact behavior, deformation, and processing condition before batch production.

During continuous supply, raw materials, reinforcement systems, extrusion parameters, and finished-product properties are managed through defined production and quality procedures.

For customers evaluating plastic resin compounding, technical support can also address molded-part cracking, notch sensitivity, and assembly damage found during trials or later production.
