With the advancement of technology and the improvement of living standards, polymer materials, especially synthetic polymers such as plastics and rubber, are playing an increasingly important role in people's lives, and their applications are expanding year by year. However, most organic polymer materials have varying degrees of flammability in air. To achieve their applications in military, aerospace, transportation, power, and civilian industries, flame-retardant modification has become a new challenge. Currently, the most ideal method for flame-retardant modification of plastics is to improve their fire resistance by adding flame retardants or flame-retardant granules.
Flame-retardant granules, also known as fire-retardant particles, are a type of product developed to meet the fire resistance requirements of plastic and rubber products.
Flame-retardant granules (bromine-based/halogen-based), also called flame-retardant particles, are among the best-performing flame-retardant products in plastics and rubber resins today. Flame-retardant granules (masterbatch) are granular products made by organically combining, modifying, and synergistically combining various flame-retardant components on the basis of flame retardants, and then mixing, extruding, and granulating them using a twin-screw or three-screw extruder. Furthermore, properly formulated flame retardant granules demonstrate far superior flame retardant efficiency and effectiveness (cost-effectiveness) compared to ordinary flame retardants. Therefore, flame retardant granules have become one of the best choices for achieving fire protection requirements in flame-retardant plastic products and an effective substitute for flame retardant powders.
